Kelley Haney
Founder/Creative Director
Kelley Haney is the founder and Creative Director of Leap of Faith Dance Company (LOFDC), a venture established alongside her husband, Dave, in 2003. Together, they are the proud parents of five children: Samantha, Jeffrey, James, Matthew, and Miranda, and they welcomed new additions to the family: Marc, Emily, and grandson Cam. In dance, Kelley is renowned for her imaginative choreography, meticulous attention to detail and profound love for children. Guided by Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength,” she prayerfully selects music and choreography for her classes, leading the LOFDC staff.

Kelley’s dance journey commenced at age four, encompassing various styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, contemporary, military, and Broadway. Throughout her illustrious choreography career, Kelley has left a mark as the choreographer for esteemed events like Walt Disney World, Hawaii’s Hula Bowl, the Pittsburgh Steelers halftime show, and the Columbus Crewzers. Her accolades include Miss All-American, Miss Showcase Star, Miss Dance Ohio, Miss Dance USA pageant finalist, the 1999-2000 Showcase of America Director of the Year Award, and the 2014 Sunny 95 “20 Outstanding Women” award.

Beyond the glittering awards, Kelley emphasizes the true treasures lie in teaching LOFDC students. Witnessing a child’s joy upon mastering a new dance move, hearing students pray in class, experiencing the profound moment of leading a dancer in the prayer of salvation, and witnessing parents discovering scholarship opportunities for their children are among the priceless moments she cherishes. The year-end recital becomes a worshipful celebration, filling the stage with God’s glory, complemented by an exceptional staff that Kelley considers a blessing.

Kelley acknowledges her leadership mindset as a reflection of her father, James McCann, a former principal from WNHS. Inspired by her father’s “Spotlight Theory” and commitment to The Warrior Way, Kelley instills in her classes the importance of self-respect, respect for others, and seeing themselves through God’s eyes: cherished, beautiful, wonderfully made, and loved children of God.

In a humble acknowledgment, Kelley attributes all her success to the grace of our Lord and Savior, affirming that “with Christ, all things are possible.”
